The most important outputs of the project will be:

1. Training methodology

The new training methodology teaches people with intellectual disabilities about Digital Health Literacy through hands-on learning (learning by doing). The methodology includes:

  • The Training Scheme describes the training methodology and includes: the didactic model, learning objectives, contents and competences, target groups, technical requirements, assessment guidelines, and a description of the Digital Health Training Activities.
  • A set of Digital Health Training Activities (DHTA). Each training activity includes:
    • Relevant health areas and best practices.
    • Digital Health Tools for health care areas and how to use them.
    • Information on how Digital Health Tools can support self-management in health areas.
    • Real use of at least one Digital Health Tool and sharing experiences with a support person.
  • The Trainers' Manual gives instructions to Supports on how to apply the Training Methodology. It includes instructions for trainers on how to plan, organize, implement and assess the training scheme, as well as how to use the training materials and digital training tool.

2. ID-Health Training Materials

We create Training Materials for people with intellectual disabilities in different formats. These will help people learn about managing their own health (self-management), using digital health services and apps, and other digital health solutions (tools, media, etc.).

Easy to read guidelines and alternative communication means for those people with intellectual disabilities with difficulties are used. A variety of training resources, including docs, presentations, assignments, digital media or tutorials are developed.

3. The ID-Health Digital Training Tool

Our Digital Training Tool includes:

  • The ID-Health e-Training Platform provides access to training materials, including e-learning tools, a meeting point for all participants, an area of collaborative work, and a digital space for accessing training resources and documentation. It also has a self-assessment tool and a search function for the catalogue of selected digital health apps, media on health and other digital health tools.
  • The ID-Health app for Android. Any user may download the mobile app from the e-Training Platform and access the content through the app. The aim is to make it easier for people with intellectual disabilities to access the ID-Health material on their smartphones and tablets. iOS users can access the same content via Safari. The e-Training platform is responsive to any display device via any popular browser.
